青海民族大学（Qinghai Nationalities University）是青藏高原建立最早的高校，是新中国建校最早的民族院校之一，是全国首批获得硕士学位授予权单位，是青海省人民政府与国家民委共建高校，入选国家中西部高校基础能力建设工程、国家大学生文化素质教育基地、国家级新工科研究与实践项目。
学校创建于1949年12月，历经青海省青年干部训练班、青海省人民公学、青海省民族公学、青海民族学院等办学阶段。2002年、2005年青海师范高等专科学校和西宁铁路司机学校先后并入青海民族学院。2009年4月更名为青海民族大学。2012年，教育部确定天津大学对口支援青海民族大学。2017年，厦门大学对口支援青海民族大学。[1]
截至2021年1月，学校分东序、西昆、文实、博雅、凤凰山五个校区，占地面积1490.79余亩，建筑面积46.14万平方米，固定资产账面总值约6.45亿元，设有23个学院，有1个博士学位授权一级学科、12个硕士学位授权一级学科、6个专业硕士学位点、59个本科专业、37个专科专业；有专任教师734名，有来自31个民族的15156名学生在校学习，其中本科生9400名，硕士研究生1609名。

Qinghai University for Nationalities is one of the earliest universities on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau established by the People's Government of Qinghai Province and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. It is one of the first national universities established by the People's Republic of China, and one of the first institutions authorized to grant master degrees in China. It has been selected into the National Basic Ability Construction Project of Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China, the National Cultural Quality Education Base for College Students, and the National New Engineering Research and Practice Project.
The school, founded in December 1949, has gone through the stages of Qinghai Youth Cadre Training Class, Qinghai People's Public School, Qinghai Public School for Nationalities, and Qinghai College for Nationalities. In 2002 and 2005, Qinghai Normal College and Xining Railway Drivers' School were merged into Qinghai College for Nationalities. In April 2009, it was renamed Qinghai University for Nationalities. In 2012, the Ministry of Education confirmed that Tianjin University would support Qinghai University for Nationalities. In 2017, Xiamen University partnered with Qinghai University for Nationalities. [1]
By January 2021, the university has five campuses, namely Dongxu Campus, Xikun Campus, Wenshi Campus, Boya Campus and Fenghuangshan Campus, covering an area of 1,490.79 mu with a building area of 461,400 square meters. The book value of fixed assets is about 645 million yuan, and there are 23 colleges. There are 1 first-level discipline authorized for doctor's degree, 12 first-level discipline authorized for master's degree, 6 professional master's degree programs, 59 undergraduate programs and 37 junior college programs. It has 734 full-time teachers and 15156 students from 31 ethnic groups, including 9400 undergraduates and 1609 postgraduates.
